KYIV, JUNE 23,2023 – The General Secretary of the UEC, Dr Katarina Pijetlovic, met today with the Premier League clubs of Ukraine in the House of Football in Kyiv and presented the goals of the union that are based on the principles of equality of all members, solidarity, transparency, and democracy.

In recognition of the support for those goals and the need to change the governance structures in European football to make their voices heard, both the League and its clubs expressed a strong backing for the UEC.

“It was a privilege to meet with the Ukrainian Premier League and their clubs in Kyiv. I would like to invite football organisations and European clubs to visit Ukraine and support the local football clubs through these difficult times. If not now, then when? Football has an important function in the society and ensuring sustainability of the Ukrainian clubs also means supporting the people of Ukraine. EuropeanLeagues, for example, have done a good job, but we need many others to step up,” said Pijetlovic.

The UEC would like to thank the entire young team of the Ukrainian Premier League, in particular Roman Kryvoruchko (Director of International Relations) and Ievgen Dykyi (CEO), for their hospitality and excellent organisation.
