The UEC was once again invited by the European Commission to participate in the EU Sport Forum, with Rebecca Nuttall representing the organisation in a panel discussion
Rebecca Nuttall, COO of Haverfordwest County AFC and UEC Executive Board member, represented the UEC at the EU Sport Forum organised by the European Commission in Krakow. The panel discussion about foreign investments in European sport featured representatives of FIFPro, European Leagues, Football Supporters Europe and the ECA.
"We are open to foreign investment, the important question is what mechanisms are in place to monitor and how tightly are they regulated. The scope of investment needs to have a positive influence on the social impact of the wider community, and not just football. There needs to be incentives for investors to look at smaller clubs in the top tiers of their domestic leagues to bridge the ever growing gaps."
Thank you again to the European Commission for inviting us, and to Alexander Bielefeld, Alberto Colombo, Stuart Dykes and Martina Pavlova for a great debate.
